Lyrics:
I never thought that this is where I'd settle down
I thought I'd die an old man back in my hometown
They gave me this plot of land
Me and some other men
For a job well done

There's a big white house, sits on a hill, just up the road
The man inside, he cried the day they brought me home
They folded up a flag
And told my mom and dad
"We're proud of your son"

And I'm proud to be on this peaceful piece of property
I'm on sacred ground, and I'm in the best of company
I'm thankful for those thankful for the things I've done
I can rest in peace, I'm one of the chosen ones
I made it to Arlington

I remember Daddy brought me here when I was eight
We searched all day to find out where my granddad lay
When we finally found that cross
He said "Son, this is what it costs
To keep us free"

Now here I am, a thousand stones away from him
He recognized me on the first day I came in
And it gave me a chill
When he clicked his heels
And saluted me

And I'm proud to be on this peaceful piece of property
I'm on sacred ground, and I'm in the best of company
And I'm thankful for those thankful for the things I've done
I can rest in peace, I'm one of the chosen ones
I made it to Arlington

And every time I hear twenty-one guns
I know they brought another hero home to us

We're thankful for those thankful for the things we've done
We can rest in peace, 'cause we are the chosen ones
We made it to Arlington

Yeah, dust to dust
Don't cry for us
We made it to Arlington

  • this song dose inspire me when i first herd it i knew i had to do more for my country then just becoming a police officer and doing the right thing. i talked to my JROTC instrocter and he said i can join the National guard and help my country. if any one lisions to it they will feel like they need to do more than just sitting around and letting others die for them they will want to help them and help keep are country free for generations to come think of what they did to keep us free from harm!.

  • @94wolfgirl I feel the same way you do. I was planning on becoming a police officer to help the community, but then I decided I had to do more than that, so I decided that I was going to join the U.S. Army to serve my country in the best way I can.

  • thanks for the lyrics! beautiful! don't be sorry for the quality.

if only more adults understood what this 10 year old kid does. tell your dad a soldier said thanks for trying, its WAY more than 95% of america does! less than one percent even tries!

  • @xxemochick9xx and 94wolfgirl

after 9/11 i swore i'd help find the bastards that did this to our country, i enlisted march 2010. after 4 weeks of basic training i was injured and sent home, i was offered a discharge and told to take it. i refused and returned 6 months later and started over, this time i finished with my injury and earned my MOS. dont let anybody tell you you cant make it or youre not good enough. keep your head down, powder dry and Charlie Mike!

  • I don't like the wars that we are involved in but I am proud of the soldiers that are willing to protect our country in these wars.

  • love it but next time choose a different color text like orange

  • this video really inspires me to join the u.s armed forces.my dad tryed too but he didnt get in because of knee injury. im ten years old and if anybody had tryed to join and didnt make my dad can feel what you feel.and its not about going to arlington and becoming a hero its about serving your country and knowing whats right.
