Reports that L.M. Montgomery took her own life were devastating to relative Georgie Campbell MacLeod

To Georgie Campbell MacLeod, Lucy Maud Montgomery was more than just a writer.
The author of "Anne of Green Gables" was a cherished member of the family. And Montgomery was a frequent visitor to her family's Park Corner home.
So when Montgomery's granddaughter recently wrote a column saying the author took her own life, MacLeod was devastated.
"My heart was broken," said MacLeod, who doesn't believe Montgomery committed suicide.

  • She apparently used to live in the building that is now my apartment. That's what I'm told, anyway. And yes, she evidently did kill herself, I hate when people refuse to believe things like that just because they don't want to.
