@MalzraAirwynn The only thing that really rubbed me the wrong way was....I think it was in Volume 4, where it seemed that every other expedition was to the same field. I grew to hate those keywords by the end (the one where you face Macha.)

@volbia12 I don't think I could say it any better!!! ^_^

@MalzraAirwynn Well I'm sure it was dragging for the characters too ;)

@KaibaGirl88 Well I should clarify al little more. I loved the gameplay at the start. But after four games of it, with no real new features in gameplay between the sequels, I got a bit tired of it by the end. I loved the Cubia and Phase boss fights, but in the last couple gams, the time between these started to drag for me.

@MalzraAirwynn I thought the gameplay was pretty enjoyable.
Although I agree with you that the leveling and virus core hunts got old, that was part of the challenge. you felt like you'd accomplished something when you finally stood up to the chaos gate and stuck all those hard earned cores in.

@volbia12 I both agree and disagree. The storyline was great. I loved many of the characters. But as far as pure gameplay, it got old for me before the end, especially some of the latter virus core hunts. Great story, but 'meh' gameplay. I still need to check out Roots and the GU games though.

@bravelatios Exactly.

@KaibaGirl88 makes me mad that how they were rated very low, stupid people who gave it a 7, they dont know a good game if it punched them in the face or put them in a coma : \
no game will ever beat the original .hack// series. Not even GU can compare. The sense of desperation, the question if you're helping or making it worse. The feeling of watching as everything falls to pieces. Then you look at the news and find out that things are going insane in the real world, screams are heard when you beat Skeith. Makes you wonder just how far it goes.

I agree that the gameplay is worth the storyline.
That being said, it would be far more popular if it was an anime rather than a set of four games.
