  • The unique thing I love about the Tempts, is how they would switch parts around and often sound like each other. You'd have to listen closely to distinguish the voices, sometimes. The fascinating thing is how on their early songs, like "Isn't She Pretty" Al Bryant sounded a lot like Eddie singing in the background. Would have been interesting to hear him on a lead or two. Believe it or not Paul used to sing their second tenor part. Sometimes in falsetto. Listen to "Two Sides to Love".

  • This was recorded October 1963, with Eldridge, he is the floating tenor you hear in the song

  • @ginasaqueen you're right, the music is tight on this one. The Funk brothers gave this song that smooth groove. I bet this was one of everyones favorite slow dance songs back in the day.

  • I tell you what blows me away is hearing Otis's voice top the ascending harmony. These guys were so far ahead of their time and just what music is supposed to be about. I saw them twice when I was very young once with David and once with Dennis, great perfomances but while both were great vocalist David had showmanship that just made that whole group better than anyone else in their time. TEMPTATIONS FOREVER

  • Early ,Early Temptations! FanDamnTastic!!!

  • The Classic Temptations forever

  • sly21fox you ain't never lied, the harmony was incredible, the really early stuff was Eldridge Bryant , listen carefully to the original recording "the way you do the things you"

  • If this song was recorded in 1963, however, then that would be Elbridge Bryant on top. On their live album, David sings that part, a little raspy, though. Gotta love him. If this was recorded in '63, then that would be Elbridge on top. Sounds like him. Compare this to his floating on the end of "Fairwell My Love". The explanation does sound credible. Where did you get that info? Great! However, the other bottom three remain the same...Otis, Paul, Eddie.
