@YourInnerSong Even though they legally cleared the sample and the creators of the original are listed in the credits and get big fat royalty checks? That's not stealing.
-
lets be honest... sampled = stolen

preparati alla bara! (1968)
a spaghetti western
-
what film is that??
-
wait so is the ending credits song a live version? or did Cee-Lo just cover it?
-
good sample, gracias

The strings melody in the song is the same of the trumpet theme in the movie. It is not so difficult to hear it.

Yikes. Got to agree with DjCopious, Crazy was sampled from the score of that particular spaghetti western. Great sample though.

I think Gnarls Barkey's version really relies on Reverberi's music. He is the one who created the bass that sticks to your mind like that. Barkley wrote memorable lyrics, awesome lyrics, even. But they did it to Reverberi's music, and I think people should remember that.
For the record, I thought this music was too good to be made in this day and age.

The part in this video (starting at about 1:30) where you put "Crazy" over the opening credits looks so awesome.
