Using the "Explorer" hand drilling system from Hydromissions I drilled a well on the farm. The well in only 16 feet deep and I was thankful for that! It took 2 hours to drill this well. Once you hit water and try to drill about 4 feet beyond that, it is slow going as the bit fills with water and cave in. But the neat thing is that one person can take this rig anywhere in the the world and drill for water. Check out www.hydromissions.com

  • How do you know where to dig

  • I have been watching all the "drill your own well" video on you tube. I drilled down a 6" hole down 19 feet and hit water after hitting water i was only able to go 3-4 feet deeper because im into sand and the water washes the sand out of my auger so i cant lift any out . Do i need to go deeper for sustainable water (i understand quality may be poor)? if so how do i get the sand out? I was hoping for 30ft ( i have a scaffold and a mate!) thanks

  • my dads old farm had a well he drilled by hand and years later a professional well was drilled. dads old well water was colder, fresher and had less sulfer and he got almost as many GPM as the deep pro well.. coolest part was the old water witch that said where to drill, he used a peach branch and walked barefoot, he found water in just minutes.

  • I love your video's......if you could, could you please make more of a instructional video on how to drill the well by hand. I am wanting to maybe drill a well a little closer to the garden and use it as a back up water source in a WROL or SHTF situation. Thanks.

  • Very Cool!

  • pond water!

  • What do you do when you hit a layer of stones (up to 1 foot)?

  • @ILPrepper I have heard from other preppers and other prepper videos that you need at least 8' depth into the water for similar depth wells. Engineer775 may have a better answer than that though.

  • Nicely done! I was wondering oh, when you see water when looking down the well - how much further down do you have to go? Thanks much and stay safe.
