Jeff Beck isn't considered ahead of his time for playing the blues. The blues was just a stepping stone to where Jeff took his music. Blow by Blow wasn't a blues album.

Not so much mind boggling as it is a "right of passage". With all great music comes great criticism. Maybe that's not the right expression, but "you know what I mean" (another great song on blow by blow). anyways, glad you enjoy the song too.
