XC mountain bike racing - round 3, 2008 British NPS

XC MTB racing from round 3 of the 2008 British NPS at Drumlanrig, Scotland.

It was shot using a Sony DSC-S80 in 640x480 4:3 aspect ratio at 30fps, and edited using Windows Movie Maker.

hm they are really slow compared to downhill riders

They would be slow compared to DH riders, courtesy of only having 80-100mm of travel, on hardtails mainly, and with far less tyre grip!

It would be interesting to see how fast Sam Hill, Gee Atherton etc. could ride that section on an XC race bike though....

Also dont forget that it is XC, the point is endurance and they have prolly been through the up's and downs aplenty. they also aren't major fans of flying down the slopes =D A lot of them dont expect to do much downhill.

Well yes if you can go UP and down for 40ks and still be going at downhillers speed, u would be really fit.
