@jmohno On-going exposure to the pathogen at small levels can definitely be beneficial. The one-cow/family farm model probably works pretty well in that regard: You milk Bessy every day and are exposed to her germs in the process. When a larger-than-normal batch of bad cells hits the milk, you're more able to fight it off. It's kind of like our hen house here. My children chase and carry those hens all over. They play in the dirt with them. They are probably far more exposed that way than w eggs
