  • john this is not surprising since it the same method that Stanley meyers used to increase his VIC and use .5 to 1.5 amps. You are on the right track

  • I think you're just saturating at least some of the core with the flux from the magnet. This is gonna affect the change of flux available for normal transformer action from the change of current. (See BH curves)

  • i think magnet is pulling more currnet from power source. you should check the voltage and current too
