The Posterolateral Rotary Instability test for the Elbow is an orthopedic test used to diagnose instability of the elbow and is considered positive if the elbow subluxates as it is passively extended and then relocates as it is flexed. Axial compression is applied to the elbow by a force administered at the wrist while valgus stress is applied to the elbow. The verbal description for this test was taken from Evaluation of Orthopedic and Athletic Injuries by Starkey and Ryan.
