With fuel prices still high, the electric car is becoming a more attractive form of transportation. Electric cars were first introduced in the 1970s, but the technology has dramatically improved in the last ten years. By 2010 automakers like Mercedes and General Motors plan to bring their models to showrooms. Jeff Swicord introduces us to one man who uses electric cars built several years ago as his primary mode of transportation.
Hope every one know's there's not enough lithium to power the amount of car's we need.

@EvilRabbiMAn are you listening? 900lb *low* in the car. the overall weight is probably close to the gas version, but it has a lower overall center of gravity. that means it handles more like a car and less like an suv.

This is Great! BUT, only if you have the money to setup & maintain a system off the grid. His one car was $40,000 used off E-Bay? How much was the second car, $40,000 as well? How much is a 9200 watt system so he can charge two cars & power his home, $100,000 plus? "Is this dream we all share about $200,000, plus $10,000 to $20,000 a year to maintain? I heard just car insurance for electrics double! Plus cells & battery replacement can be in the thousands, These are not regular car batteries
