"Can't Fight the Moonlight" is a song written by Diane Warren, recorded by LeAnn Rimes and featured on the soundtrack of the film Coyote Ugly, and the film itself.

The song is about a girl who has a very strong crush on a boy, and she will not stop until her crush succumbs to her charm. She is obsessed, and says that there is no escape from her love because the moonlight foretells the crush's fate: he will fall in love with the girl.

It reached number one on the UK Singles Chart in 2000. It also reached #1 in Australia and went on to become the highest selling single in Australia of 2001. It went triple platinum in Australia selling over 210,000 copies. In the US, it enjoyed two chart runs on the Billboard Hot 100. On its original chart run in 2000, "Can't Fight the Moonlight" stalled at #71. It regained renewed interest in late 2001 and 2002, and rose up the charts to #11. In the US the single is certified gold by RIAA (which signifies sales of 500,000+ copies). It is one of the most recent songs to achieve such high US sales of a physical single.

To date, it is Rimes's last song to chart in the top forty on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

Honestly wen i was younger I was afraid of this song.. My grandmother had a vacation house upstate new York in the adirondacks and wen I heard this so I wud think of werewolves.. Just creeped me out lol and I was watching coyote ugly today and I just heard this song I realized that this was the song.. Lml I was such a weird kid
