This is Dktr Sebi in Philly after one of his lectures during the question and answers when someone asked about if cooking alkaline foods will or can you kill the foods by cooking it.

This is Khemistry 101

Whether your food is raw or cooked can also make a difference.

Tomatoes contain lycopene, a form of antioxidant. Antioxidants have been hailed for their ability to neutralize free radicals, which are linked to ageing, stroke and heart diseas.

"If you have fresh tomatoes, they have a total antioxidant potential of about 80,"
"But if you boil or can them the antioxidant potential goes up five or six-fold." "This happens because the lycopene in the raw tomato has been transformed to trans-lycopene in the cooked version, and trans-lycopene is much more readily absorbed."

Cooking makes the antioxidant, more available because you break down the cell wall with the cooking process.

  • I don't agree with the Doctor...he should know better than given out misleading info but I guess he has been sent to us by the FDA to briefly distract us from others such as Dr.Llaila Afrika,Queen Afua,Dr.Neal Barnard, and many other health professionals that have an abundance of evedence to back their claims. After hearing him say that cooked food is better or equivalent to raw foods I don't really won't to hear anything eles that Mr.Sebi has to say...no harm but that's how I feel.

  • @blackman666ful It’s ok to disagree but before you do you should study a bit more. Here are some subjects to study chemistry, biochemistry, microbiology, and botany. After studying these subjects you will understand what Dr. Sebi is speaking on and as for the people that you mentioned they uses hybrid herbs and plants.

  • Here is alink to my New Alkaline Foods E-cookbook: e-cookbook.alkalinefoodsllc

  • Was dr. Sebi saying, "But the carrots, it's does'nt matter wheather you cook them or not, their not gonna feed you anything? Did he mean that carrots have no nutritinal value? I could not hear what he said in the video!

  • Yes, he was stating that carrots has no nutritinal value. Because carrots is a hybrid and is full of starch..

  • The key here is NATURAL. I would suppose with the hybrid foods, it's better not to cook them?

  • Or to eat them, because they are acid.

  • @keithexum My People! i find your debate a similar one that occurs in my own head. as of late i have been in conflict with what Dr. Sebi says and Laila Afrika says. i know there is truth in both perspectives and am willing to do the research. what books do you recommend to find out if in fact high temperatures disturbs the mineral content of a substance?

  • @grimslider75 watch?v=tnletS9O18M&feature=related Dismiss what science much?Einstein said energy doesn't die it just changes forms and according the video I pasted it is the truth according to the science.People speak without doing research.

  • @blackman666ful Batteries are made from alkaline substances. They process it extensively but yet it still gives you energy in your batteries.Dr Sebi in my opinion is far sharper than those others you named. He cures aides and I have been following his regimen for 2 weeks and see a major result.Energy never dies it just changes form-Eisenstein.

  • @keithexum What is the for reason for cooking if a person has to season there for afterwards? They say different strokes for different folks but when it comes to nutrition I done think that people are that much different.Dr.Sebi may have good intentions and I will make time to view some of his videos.Again, this is what my research suggest.

  • Ok then, dismiss science much?

  • There was always that nagging thought as to how come herbs are so potent yet you have to cook them to reap the benefits... BUT on the other hand I do feel more energized when I eat RAW spinach as opposed to cook... BUT now comes another theory... Yeah you reap the benefits of cooked herbs but you do so by DRINKING THE WATER it's cooked in so if you're going to eat cooked veggies you can't just take it out of the pot and eat it... you have to consume the water it's cooked in as well.

  • I agree with this guy 100% either you cook it or eat it raw, it is the same.

  • WELL KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK........

TOEVERYONE ELSE THAT WANT TO EAT NATURAL RAW FOODS...CARROTS ARE NOT GOOD FOR YOU.
