Leo Fuld - God Zegen Nederland (HiPPO RECORDS 97001)

Just before he died, the King of Yiddish Music made the reording of God zegen Nederland (God bless the Netherlands). Music by Irving Berlin. On Queensday (30th April) 1997 he waited Her Majesty queen Beatrix I of Holland to present this now rare cd and sing it to her. It touched the emotions of the late Prince Claus, who shed a tear. It was the Royal Heir H.R.H. prince William-Alexander that scored all remaining cd's.

Thank you, but let's not forget we Dutch supplied the largest part of volunteer SS, comparatively. And out of 100,000 Jews only 40,000 returned, also a doubtful record score. But Leo Fuld can do no wrong for me; I have played his records (old 78 rpm's) since I was four, and to me he is the Jewish voice par excellence. And I certainly won't begrudge him the pleasure of meeting the queen.
