In the premiere episode of "Undercover Boss" (http://www.cbs.com/primetime/undercover_boss/) , a new CBS prime time television program, Larry O'Donnell, a 1980 architectural engineering graduate, trades office meetings for toilet cleaning. As a result, he teaches himself and America poignant lessons in running a multi-national company with 45,000 employees.

Larry, president of Waste Management (http://www.wm.com/wm/about/leadership.asp) since 2004, agreed to participate on the show to garner an up-close look at the frontlines of his company. As an anonymous trainee in different positions, he could see how and where improvements could be made from both an operational and morale standpoint.

Students from the Cockrell School of Engineering and McCombs School of Business will view the episode with Larry before it airs nationwide and ask him questions about corporate leadership.

  • I am suspect. People act differently when a video camera is around.

Also, I suspect some of it is staged. Would someone invite a stranger/new employee into their home and then start telling them their financial problems?

  • What an amazing concept for Capitalist (north) America!

It's about time the richest in the world realize what it's like to work for the poorest in the world!

    5/5!!!

  • @wlo0638

well, you must understand that he seemed to be getting along pretty well. and when there is a TV crew around things are different and you would get more advantages that you wouldn't without. it's like.. would you let a celebrity walk in your house with a camera crew? probably yes. would you let some weird stranger in alone? probably no.. you have more assurance that the persons not a creep when other people are around.

  • @Xun101 Good for them?!? I'm from Canada...and I don't really care?

  • @crypticcreations Americans need to start thinking some orginal shows up instead of buying the rights. FYI that.

  • I agree with outonbail1488, WM is one of the most unetical companies I have ever seen. I know this from experience, we have been fighting them for over 4 years, and are prepared to fight until we win. I am not African/American, but I now know how they feel, environmental racism is common with WM.

  • @Freepepsi42 They're just jealous!
