Well, aside from my grandfathers name on the inside of some of my most cherished books, I have also seen various other names in books that I still refuse to remove, including a Lawrence on the inside of my 1944 bluejackets manual. I love my books and would never do this heinous crime to them.

Some People value this kind of information as history inside of books. Consider the value of provenance... and do not do this to any books that may have any historical value for any reason. Just my opinion.
