This video shows the sun shadowing system of the Dark Ride Studios engine. The main features are:
- Cascaded shadow maps
- Shadow caching
- Texel stabilization
- Split selection: plane, sphere and box
- PCF filtering
- Up to 4 splits without shader predication in SM2.
Very nice; the shadows don't shimmer or swim at all.
Is there a reason why CSM was chosen over PSSM?
