@IlersichProductions, only Metropolis survived lonhg enough in cinema history to be remember. Sadly most of the great films of that period were lost or destroyed. The other films you mentioned were amazing too in their own way, but we only have now copies or bad original material, the main reason why it is so hard to reonstruct or rereleased so many of the early great movies of the history of cinema.

@rakrois I'm not trying to insult Metropolis, but there were others before who were innovative with the camera. Notably, The Last Laugh from 1924 and The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari from 1920. The Last Laugh also broke the rule of title cards in a silent film. That's right, it's all told through the visuals.
Possibly the greatest 25 seconds in cinematic history.
