You'll hear the last 30 seconds of "Sing a Simple Song" and then a blistering performance of "If You Want Me to Stay." This was the second show of the night at BB King's Blues Club in New York and shouldn't be confused with the weak 8:30 p.m. show. Sly went on at about midnight and was on fire. He also performed "Hot Fun in the Summertime," "Stand," "Higher," "Thank You," "Family Affair," "Everyday People," "Sex Machine" and a bit of a new rap song with the lyrics: "I'm the real model, not the role model and if I catch you in desert you'll get the cold bottle..."

  • Drugs will own ya, Sly could have been so much more than his is today.

But his contributions to music will be around forever - he was so original and so incredibly great in his prime.

  • @typicalaussiebloke Sly actually contributed with Funkadelic on the album "Electric Spanking of War Babies" and throughout the late seventies and early eighties they would always tour together.

  • This should have been the event of the decade. II never even knew about this show.
