1. A long time ago (in Vietnam), soldiers were brave in the battlefield.
2. Earning citizens respect and appreciation because of the safety shield.
3. For years, soldiers made a lot of sacrifice.
4. So that people were well clothed along with sags of fish and rice.

1. One day, like a storm in bad weather, an army of red soldiers overtook South Vietnam in a mutiny.
2. The liberation by North Vietnam was met with shock and agony.
3. One night, the South Vietnamese soldiers were locked up in fear.
4. Their families faces became rivers of tears.

1. Then, there was midnight questioning and humiliation (because of the close association with the American Government).
2. There was assault with (more) interrogation.
3.Day and night the South Vietnamese soldiers wished for
their release to come by.
4. But, many drew their last breath without saying good-bye
1. Now the wounded (South Vietnamese) soldiers have sacrificed their entire lives.
2. Some have been buried in an (unmarked) alley (while others on a deserted hill).
3. Their bodies bear the scar and their hearts were bitter still;
4. Our sorrowful eyes are flowing with tears as in a river.
