@shyathena34 However, although it was slightly out of time frame - the movie actually (like the book) spans over many diffrent years, starting off late 1940's, going back to the blitz, and back again. I believe the whole thing lasts about 10 years - so actually, Neil Jordan made a good desicion in this. It also makes up for the fact that he cuts out most of the 'haunting' scenes of the film, where Bendrix senses a sort of presense (Sarah) with him the whole time, leading him to believe in God.
Loved this movie and the song Haunted Heart. However the song doesn't fit with the time period of the movie. The movie takes place during the London blitz of 1940-1941. Haunted Heart didn't come out til 1948. Lack of research on the directors part. Oh well still a great flick. The book was good too.
This is a superb trilogy of songs, performed by possibly the best ever female singer of popular music, and a great video to boot! Just brilliant. Thanks for posting
I first checked out this site because of the Two Jakes. I led me recently to check out The End of the Affair. It just came up on my cue and I am glad you introduced me. Five minutes before the end, I thought I liked but didn't know if I would watch it again. The ending is quite special. Thanks again for posting this.
