  • I have the same question, i've always heard jag as pretty much the same as ja. Does it matter how you say it?

  • That's right. it kinda depends on which swedish accent you've got but you can say ja.

  • I have a question... I have heard a lot of Swedish, as I am trying to learn it, but I've never had a formal teacher. So...my question is... I've "JAG" and "ÄR" pronounced two ways; the first way was ... Jag= something similar to ja. Är= something close to eh. I don't know... I was just curious if it mattered o-o;; or what was the right way to say it. Tack så mycket for the lesson.

  • Well i'd think the correct way is jag är but i get what you're saying. you can say ja "eh".

  • lol sorry, lol it was funny tho...just i was hoping 2 learn a little bit more:P

  • what do you want to know? maybe i'll do anotherone ;P

  • It depends on why and how you would want to learn to speak swedish. There is no downside to be able to write and speak properly, even if it is a bit "stiff" or formal as you call it. However, the best way to learn a laguage is by exposing yourself to it as much as possible, by talkin to friends or watching tv. I have a friend who actually got an A (MVG) in the first course of senior-high swedish and he's only been here for a little over 2 years.

  • It's a lot easier for someone who's never spoken swedish to say "mitt namn är" instead of "jag heter", because the translation is a lot more logical. "Mitt namn är" actually translates to "my name is", while "jag heter" would be translated into "I named" or something similar.

  • hahah, fan va rolig du e xD
