thats so bull! if you really hooked up on that red with that rod it would of snapped when you set the hook on a fish that big. You probly just rehooked it when you pulled it in with your normal rod.

Actually, I guess you don't know much about winter redfish up here. They slow down so much during the winter, that they really don't run like a warm water fish will. He (or she) pulled me around in the kayak until it was done. Actually ended up being much easier to land than I would have thought. By the way, FloridaFisherman, what part of Florida were you born in?
