Walking In The Air by Papasmurfdad

Last spring a little girl inspired me to enter a church talent show. I chose 'Walking In The Air' in the style of Connie Talbot. How surprised was I to hear Jackie Evancho sing it on her new CD Heavenly Christmas! She sung circles around this papa!

@straightarrow372 In my younger days I am sure I could do it justice. For the past 15 years I have been singing barbershop tenor, a lot of it in the counter tenor range (sounds like a young lad!).

Thank you for the additional information. It's wonderful to have music in your life in such a rewarding and pleasureable way. Papasmurfdad, if you and I are ever at the same Jackie concert, I'd love to have an opportunity to meet you and shake your hand, and express my thanks personally for what you have done with Jackie's performances, if you are comfortable with that. @sempiternam4jackie I would enjoy meeting you. I would REALLY love to meet Jackie and/or Lisa some day. Alas to get good video, a passion of mine, I have to hide if you know what I mean! My next trip to see her will be Mandalay Bay and I can't wait!

@papasmurfdad I notice that you have indeed met sempiternam4jackie previously. However, both of you were so preoccupied with watching Jackie's performance that you were unaware of this meeting. It is all there, clearly documented at 3:01 in your video!

@sempiternam4jackie Thank you for your reply. I do understand and appreciate your modesty and I agree that there are many other avid Jackie Evancho supporters out there. My perception of the number 1 & 2 ranking of you two gentlemen was based on observation of your direct involvement and active promotion of Jackie over a long period of time and, even disregarding any ranking, we 'out here' have much to be thankful for, to both of you gentlemen, for enabling us to share in the magic.

I did'nt think it was possible to hear a more beautiful version then Chloie's.

But Jackie's tone, pitch, delivery and timbre is nothing less then pure bliss with anything she sings. And again, thanks for letting her follow her dreams.

She does bring the sound of perfection to a whole new level!

@papasmurfdad Congratulations on Mandalay Bay! Personally, I think it would be possible for you to meet Lisa and Jackie without having to reveal this aspect of your identity, and I truly hope you do have that opportunity in LV or at another event soon. Never say never, but as of now, I'm not expecting to attend the concert on 12/29, although this may change within the next month. I'm excited to be attending the December concerts in Buffalo, Atlantic City, and Pittsburgh.

@music4sensei Thank you but I'm just one of thousands like me who love and adore Jackie and are so very proud of her and of what she has accomplished through her talent, her determination, and the love and support of her family. I've had the good fortune to meet many wonderful fans of Jackie, and I don't and would never think of myself as her #1 fan, because there are many who are just as dedicated to her as I am, maybe even more, if such is possible.

Papasmurfdad - I am horrified, even devastated, to read your replies to Sempiternam. Sempiternam is Jackie Evancho's number 1 fan. You, Papasmurfdad, are number 2 (but only because you are always tied up doing outstanding videos), and the two of you have never met?! Nor have you ever even met Jackie?! Papasmurfdad, you have done so much to promote Jackie on YT that I sincerely hope that you get to meet both Jackie and Sempiternam in Mandalay. It's the least that can be done to thank you.
