Sorry about the lag, if you guys want me to I can remake it, but who cares. And since I say that the opener "DEVIATES" into many different builds I allready proved how bad my English is. :p Please live with it!


Diamond Terran trying to make a series of videos for you to step by step become a better Terran player.
Videos are made for you guys from Gold and down, everybody else could probably seek advice elsewhere

This time we look at the basic opener, which basically goes like this:
@ 10 Supply - Build Supply depot
@ 12 Supply - Build Barracks
@ 13 Supply - Build Refinery
@ 15 Supply - Convert Command Center to Orbital Command
@ the same time - Make a Marine
@ 16 Supply - Supply depot

YOU WANT TO PRACTICE THIS LITERALLY 50 TIMES BEFORE FOCUSING ON ANYTHING ELSE!!!! Get your timings really tight so you can focus on other stuff. When you are happy with it, it's time to move on :)

Map used: Build order tester - Please google it. You load it in your map editor and press ctrl+f9 to play it. Remember to close your game before loading the editor. GL HF!

Thx, but do you get 2 gas at the same time if you are going mass mech?

@FasStudio Yes. The basic opener isn't anything you want to change. it is the same all the way. Going mass mech isn't something you can do off 1 base anyways, so getting 2nd gas in your main at a standard time won't effect your opportunities :) You should never rush for tech, just get it at its own pace, that way you ensure that you don't have to cut workers or get supply blocked =)

F1 right click F1 right click F1 right click ... ???

is this faster than sending all scw's immediately to one mineral patch and split the half of them on their way ??? like you did before 3:15 ????

@monstdrumm Yeah! It's F1, then right click a patch, then F1 and click another patch. Do it quickly and you look awesome :p It really doesn't matter to be honest. This would definitely be the very best way to do it, however if you missclick you just make things worse than they would be if you just sent all to one patch. Don't worry too much about your split :)
