My 1st attempt at using EWQL Quantum Leap Symphonic Choirs and Goliath. Had it and IMAC with Logic Pro 9 for about 2 weeks now. Fantastic software. Sorry about the video. I couldn't grab video clips and had to make do with stills. Still! Hope you like the music.

Can't wait to get stormdums 2 and symphonic orchestra.

Original composition (by me) copyright Aug 2009.
Recorded with EWQL Symphonic Choirs and Goliath plug ins.

  • dneusch16 I used a 24" IMAC 4GB Ram using Logic Pro 9. When I did this track the thing crashed every time I played it. East West samples - especially the Choirs - eat RAM and the CPU always seemed to be up at 100% and I could barely play 2 tracks at a time. I've since discovered that each track on Logic has a 'freeze' function that basically creates a temporary audio recording of the track and so the east west memory is bypassed. So I can now play a good number of tracks at the same time.

  • Do you think, that I can use EWQLSO with Sibelius? I hope so, because I want to buy it...

  • @Malejmrnavej Yeah apparently you can. Someone wrote a 'soundset' whatever that is for use by Sibellius users. EW's homepage (soundsonline(dot)com) has a download of the soundset with full installation instructions.

  • so if i made something in the standalone version of symphonic choirs, could i like, say, export it, or put it into like another software such as garageband or symphonic orchestra???

and what exactly is the standalone version of this software opposed to the plug in version??

  • @mroubison You can use it standalone using 'Play' - EW's sound engine, but I don't know about exporting. It can be used as a plug in VST, a 'virtual' synth in say cubase or Logic. In Logic you just use the I/O button on a track to point it to the PLAY engine and record as normal. Only the Logic track is using the east west PLAy library instead of the Logic Library. It eats memory especially if you use reverbs etc on PLAY. i don't think it would work with Garageband. Not 100% sure but don't think

  • How did you set up Choirs within Logic 9? I'm having issues with Wordbuilder and the video tutorial hasn't helped nor has tech support.

  • @nsmadsen I don't think I can help really because I followed the video which came with the disk - which I think you can download from their website. One thing that took a while to sink in, is that you have to tell word builder what type of voices - male female vota etc - you have selected in Play. Otherwise it can be out of tune. But following the video worked for me. If your Choirs works in standalone mode then I can't see why it wouldn't work from Logic. Sorry I cant be more help. Best of luck

  • how big of an imac did you use? I am thinking of getting these programs to but i'm not sure my computer is big enough for them.

  • @Metalunited101 ok, interesting but my questions is why? Will sound better?

With some daw you can export the entire song into separate tracks, from midi to audio.(Of course if you want to mixing or mastering in to another daw). For example i recorded a song with midi keyboard and midi note, what should i do next? Yeah the sound is good but not as to others who are PRO.I don't know where is the problem, mixing?Eq, compres, reverb, ok but still not enough.Where is the trick?Procesing midi to audio?

  • you have not used ewqlso for this? woou!

  • @Malejmrnavej Yes you can , but i dont recommend it , actually you can get a greater sound by using it with a DAW .

  • THIS IS FANSTASTIC!!!!

Tal1Sker you are the man! :)

Check out my choirs if you have time

  • @rockmesexyjesus10 Sure, lets say you have a MIDI Track and you want to convert it to audio. First have the MIDI track ready and create a NEW AUDIO Track. Next hit the record arm button on the NEW AUDIO track. Then Select a bus on the Sends of the MIDI track. For example: (Bus 1-2). Select the same bus(es) on the NEW AUDIO Track you created earlier and put those same bus(es) on the INPUT of the NEW AUDIO track. And there, hit record and your done. It's gets bounced down. This works for all DAWS.

  • @Metalunited101 how do i go about doing that? can you give me a step by step? i would really appreciate it.

  • @rockmesexyjesus10 Bounce it down as audio first by routing buses.

  • will these plugins work with sonar 7?
