Went the following week and it was back - problem was a bad thread on a fusible plug - leaking. Apparently thisd had happened before that week. It was NOT a melted plug!

Great coverage, beautifully shot and edited thanks. Is that the Duke's original whistle? Sounds a lot more impressive than the other standards I've heard?

From the loco's carers - "The original A4 whistles made by Crosby were taken off during the war or the notes changed because they sounded like air raid sirens, also some broke off whilst the locos were running and a modification was made to the pin connecting the chamber to the bottom. So you might find the odd half a whistle somewhere along the east coast mainline! The chords were A,C & E . The whistle currently on the loco (a Crosby Tri-chime) is a copy of the original BR Crosby whistle."

With having the lineside pass now, i tend not to do those sort of shots.
Well Done.

Thanks - I have a pass for the KWVR but I reckon there are plenty of shots to be had on the Moors without walking the track. This is my 25th year up there with a video camera! and earlier (1970) with ciné.
Keep up the good work!
