Just for fun I mounted a camera to the milling head on an LPKF Protomat C60 circuit board router.
I'm using it to cut out a front panel for a box, with various connector and screw holes.

The bit is 2mm in diameter, and is spinning at 40,000rpm

  • I have a new spindle from S62, aluminum can be cut?

  • @android200278 not sure. I think you'd have to try it!

  • @EngineWhisperer I don't know as it to connect :(

  • @android200278 you would need a controller for it, but I think it could be made to cut aluminium. You just need the right cutter bit and the right rpm / feed rate.

  • @EngineWhisperer I don't know where that to connect, what controler?

  • @android200278 sounds like you need to do a lot of research on the parts you have!

  • @EngineWhisperer have the opportunity to help with connection ?

  • @android200278 I really should try aluminium on it one day, but I'm not sure if the router bits will work on it.

PCB material is pretty good for prototyping anyway :)

  • Thanks :)
