I don't know why people gripe about backward compatibility. Why would I want to play old games. The PS3 slim is my first ever playstation but when I had a 360 I never played my old xbox games. It seems fairly pointless - everyone is different but playing old games does not have the same novelty as watching an old movie.

its wack my ps3 slim was making popping noise too when i shut it off then 4 months later i cant eject my game out and the noise stopped so i gotta take it to sony to fix it and wait to play it again i hate playstation for their cheap consoles i really do if they come out with another system im not getting it so this is my last sony console i hope they hear this and the game still plays you can reach me on ozdaboy@aol.com or message me on the network as oztha63boy

Its pointless to compare a Ps3 to a 360. There will always be systems that are competing against eachother. If there was only one system worth buying it would be outrageously priced. Competing companies means lower prices so dont hate on others for liking one system. Everybodies opinions on the better console are based on their social class, economic state and simple personal preference, so trying to persuade your opinions is pointless.

ps3 fans complain about not having backwards compatibility because the PS2 library was epic...it destroys the game libraries of ALL the current consoles...not just the PS3.
