++Revised 1/2011++ **Extended Single Version** - I've Always Loved This Great Song By Rare Earth....But The LP Version Of @ 21 Minutes Is Just Too Long For Me And The Single Version Is Too Short.. For Years, I Thought It Would Be Cool To Hear An "Extended Single Version".....A Version That Kept The Single Intact But Also Added Some Of The Excellent Instrumental Parts And The Great Ending From The LP. So, Here Is My Creation....Clocking In At Just Under 7 Minutes. Enjoy!

  • I was one of the first DJ's to ever play this song on top 40 radio..even before it was released....1969..WJIM Lansing..Used the name Joe Arthur...They were called the Sunliners before that..played many clubs in lower Michigan,,East Lansing MSU..one night these guys brought the song into the station..I played it...the club cranked it up on the speakers..got to number 4 in nation Joe..

  • My favorite version of this is the live version from the double album that resembles a brown backpack. The quality of the recording was not that great, but their performance was incredible with all the solos. It runs about 25 minutes.

  • 7 minutes is just right!

  • " CKLW " -A.M. rock radio in the early 70's. Anybody remember the before & after of when they First started selling Transister radios ? You could listen to Rock Music outside of your parents censorship and gripes. lol

  • @JOEY -DJ - Excellent ! I just came to see if this was the song that someone included the " CKLW " -(from Michigan). In the Early 70's it was the Best and Only real Rock station we got in Ohio. I loved it.

  • hype for breakin!

  • @Joeygeegiannunzio cool story, im from Windsor

  • I saw this live in Frankfurt, Germany along with Santana, Ten Years After, And Frigid Pink. I was in the Army in Geissen, Germany. This cocert is where I lost my solid Ivory Bowl with about 5 grams of hash in it. I passed it along have never seen it since. I still don't care, I partied with Carlos Santana all night long.

  • This Song Rocks!!! This is way, way better than The Temptations version!! In fact, this version blows away The Temptation!! This is Classic Rock Folks!!!

  • WAY BETTER THAN THE TEMPTATIONS VERSION!!!. But don't get me wrong, I love the Temptations. I sang this version many times back in my day with my roommates band back in 1977. I was 19 yrs old then. Wow I miss those days rocking with a microphone & dancing back & forth on stage on Friday & Saturday nights. Ahhhh, the memories. Look Out Baby, Here I Come, Get Ready, On My Way!!!
