This building looks as if it suffered a fire that destroyed the roof and dome, and they did this to the Jackson County Courthouse in Sylva, North Carolina Three times and it is still original and historical. This building is still historic even with the dome and roof destroyed, as the walls and interior look to be still largely intact.
Can every town be called "historic" now? Are there any defining features or do we just any downtown historic? That courthouse isn't exactly independence hall or Mt. Vernon.
