The legendary is more of a easter egg that bungie put in the original halo ce to give us some lolz and its back enjoy
If you didn't notice the put where johnson and the elite are hugging is the legendary ending.

@carz5927 I wouldn't read too much into it. Sergeant Johnson returns in both of those games so clearly this doesn't actually happen and is just meant to be a joke

Is it just me, or is the legendary ending a subtle foreshadowing to the elites joining the UNSC later on in Halo 2 and 3?
