I love the fact that Brian sang lead with Mick for the whole song.

A cover so inept, so rushed, so sloppy, that they released this take as the single even though Mick f**ks the lyrics up at 0.23-28 "Tell me unner sand"? Even the first two words of that gibberish are the wrong ones. The Stones were and remain a brilliant rock band, but this is TOTAL SHIT.

I remember reading that John and Paul were at some 'Stones' Gig,maybe a Bar,and said 'We'll write a song for you'! Went off, and a few minutes later came back with 'I wanna be your man'!

Both versions are great, I like how the Beatles version has a nice "oh lets go to a dance and see what happens" kind of feel, whereas the Stones version wants to cut straight to the hot sweaty sex now

The Beatles originally wrote "I wanna be your Man" for Ringo, and another song ( i can't remember at this moment) for Ringo also, but John took the one I can't remember.

John & Paul considered the song a throwaway until they heard what the Stones had done with it, and how well it sold. Only then did they decide to record it. But their version doesn't compare to this. Brian's solo must have stunned them.

I don't understand. Lennon and McCartney don't sing lead on I Wanna Be Your Man, Ringo does. Mick Jagger is a much better singer than Ringo, and to me the Stones' version rocks it far more than the Beatles version.

I was a Beatles fan before I became a Stones' fan and I never liked the Beatles version. It's hard for me to like anything Ringo Starr sings. When I heard the Stones' version, I was completely knocked out by it. To me they took a good song and made it a great one.

Brian Jones Guitar compensates the lack of backing vocals, so Beatles and Stones are completely different and great at the same time .

the Stones were under pressure for their 2nd single release and were struggling to find a suitable song. Up stepped Lennon and McCartney who gave them this great song. Lennon commented in 1980 that they gave this song to The Stones and Ringo, he is quoted (jokingly) saying we were never going to give them anything decent!!!

To each his own, but the Stones just aren't the singers that McCartney and Lennon were!

The Beatles rocked it more as well, live there's just no comparison!
