  • Actually you are wrong!!!! Both the frizzen and the flint wear down, the flint just wears down faster. The sparks that you see are actually white hot pieces of steel that are shaved off the frizzen by the flint. If a rifle is fired too many times the frizzen will need to be replaced. Have you ever seen anybody sharpen something made of steel on a grinding wheel? The sparks coming off the grinding wheel are pieces of white hot steel(just like a flintlock)!!!

  • Why do flintlock rifles have two triggers?

  • The rear trigger is a set trigger. Before you shoot you depress the rear trigger, then you push the front trigger to fire. It essentially makes it a hair trigger, with about a 1 pound pull. Or you can shoot with just the front trigger, for about a 8 pound trigger pull.

Please speak for yourself. I for one will never hand over my guns. Not even one. I'd rather bury them in the woods or even give them away before I hand even one over to some gun-grabbing government. I took an oath to defend the constitution and that's exactly what I'm going to do.
