I worked at this store in Mill Valley in the 1980s. It was a cool place, dedicated deeply to music and featuring the most knowledgeable staff you have ever met. I mourn its passing and any other well-stocked independent music store that was run with passion.

Thanks for your comment-- what a dream job! Do you know how John's doing? I hope he's enjoying his retirement.

I'm trying to figure out what song he played when he opened for Dylan last night, he was repeating stuff back and it included "I don't want to be a soldier momma" when he repeated stuff back. I know thats a John Lennon lyric, but it wasn't a cover of that song.

I haven't been able to catch any of the EC/Dylan shows (wrong coast!), but on the last tour with the Imposters EC was singing bits of "I Don't Want to be a Soldier" during "River in Reverse." If you heard "Wake me up, wake me up" as a refrain in the song, it was definitely "River in Reverse." (From the album of the same name, as they used to say...)
