As many of you know, I lost my husband Jay to colon cancer ten years ago.
Since then, colon cancer awareness and prevention has been a cause near to my heart.
I've had lots of help through the years from some recognizable faces who have loaned their talent for Public Service Announcements about the disease.
March is Colon Cancer Awareness Month, and this video will hopefully serve as a reminder to all of you--go get screened! Thanks for watching.

  • I think its good information. You can do so much to cure yourself of colon cancer with colonics, wheatgrass juice & a vegan diet. Thats pretty much all you'll need. So...to life!!!!

  • we should be aware ....

...are good fighting tools, but altogether Cancer's such a complex disease and is not even entirely preventable. I also agree prayer really helps. I believe even if cancers was completely preventable, or if there was a know cure, then some other deadly disease would come along, or there more natural disasters would claim the lives of many.

Cancers are like natural disasters, only that they take place within the body. And all deadly diseases and natural disasters are set in place so that we can die in order to prevent overpopulation. Why do you think most people with cancers do not develop any symptoms until the disease is in its very late stage.? I do not mean to be pessimistic, but this is simple logic. Yes, there are some steps that we can take, such as good diet and exercise, and regular check-up that...

  • @tmat04 - I agree that God gives & God takes away. My Mother-in-law died of colon cancer in 2005. I also believe that God gives us tools we need, here on Earth, to meet Him half way in the healing process. Prayer really helps in addition to eating healthy. Check out streaming documentary on Netflix called "The Gerson Miracle". There IS a cure already for cancer, it's called "prevention"! You can prevent cancer - even shrink it naturally by eating a raw-food diet of organic veggies & fruits.

  • PLEASE GET CHECKED BEFORE 50 - After 40 if you are clinically obese. My mother-in-law was diagnosed w/ colon cancer at 44 & died at 46. She'd been experiencing bloody stools for a while & thought it was due to bad diet. She was obese & thought the symptoms were manageable. When diagnosed, she did chemo & the tumors went down. She stopped chemo in summer- made her sick. When checked again, it had spread to her liver. She died in Feb. 2005 after only a year & a half of knowing about the cancer :'(

  • Studies tell us that UP TO A THIRD of your friends and loved ones don’t get the recommended colonoscopy because they’re afraid or embarrassed.

In honor of March’s Colon Cancer Awareness Month (Slogan: “Be Aware of Your Derriere”) we’ve posted a fun digestive ditty to You Tube—look for (Lookin' Up My) Backdoor, an homage to CCR.

Enjoy the video, then forward the link to your friends so that they can encourage their loved ones to be screened too.

  • ...with equal force! We must be willing to accepted death as a normal part of life! And disbelief in God is also another issue. God hates a person who is fearful and does not believe in him.

  • ...then would they be generous and show compassion towards others who are less fortunate. Now, i would agree that we still have to put up a fight against cancer. But we also have to fight our fear of death...
