Quick tour of the Bivy Bag. I got this one for about $56 (used) from Graham and Sons, LLC. Mint condition, great tool.
I can't yet verify the water-proof-ness of the bag, however, as seen in this video it does add a small bit of warmth.

-10*C outside, 10*C Inside the Bivy, and about 16*C inside my sleeping bag (only rated to ~5*C)

  • Great video. I've been looking into whether or not it would be worth to buy just the bivy cover like you have done. Looks like it would do great as the outside layer to my 20 degree mummy sleeping bag. I use a lean-to tarp shelter and this setup would work GREAT for me. Thanks for doing the video.

  • @rlmarin1968 Thats why I made it! There wasn't a lot of stuff about it, besides here's what it looks like. So I decided I should to test it out and share my thoughts. I think it's a great addition to anyone's arsenal for the cost and weight. Ever thought of getting rid of the tarp and just using a poncho?

  • Nice.

  • @xUbastardx Thanks!

  • Do you roll this or stuff it/compress it when backpacking?

  • @rabbitsib Hey thanks for taking the time to reply to that pointless comment.

  • @deadlychicken69 That's the store. Come on grow up.

  • GREAT REVIEW !!!....thank you.. I have that bivy bag...you did the tough work for me..lol

  • @JakeOConnell can you tell me is it getting moldy ?

  • Just a Tip I always put my Boots and other gear (Gloves, Cap's beanies) into a plastic shopping carry bag to keep Dry and my main reason is because of our snake and Spider population we have our here in the Aussie Bush. Yeh! snakes don't really start to get on the move till temps start to hit around the 20c mark same with the white tips spiders but the good old red back are all year troopers so the plastic bag helps keep boots dry if it rains as well I put my boot in to two bags Just incase

  • From Dicks....sporting goods. lol

  • @JakeOConnell: I have the military woodland poncho...just haven't figured out how to rig it up. Plenty of videos that I can look at on how to use it that way...so I may just do that going forward in order to drop a little weight from my pack. Thanks again.
