this POEM was written in the early 19 hundred.. and it seems he is talking about the present satuation of all the MUSLIMS in the world

@daddyjunkie: and i can't believe that you dear to put a pathetic sectarian label on such a great thinker. He was above beyond the low level of any 'firqah', and even he even taught for liberation and struggle, he was still agaist the imperialism of all kind, even by Muslim rulers

Iqbal's message is universal and is not space & time bound. Quaid-i-Azam is an example of an Ideal leader with the qualities of mature thinking, natural lightening, and fiery style
. What Iqbal is saying in this verse is that today's leaders have lost these attributes. I hope this would explain things. Thanks
