You must feel very let down by the system - what country can afford to lose such articulate and thoughtfull a member of their military - hopefully your experience will help pave the way for change. Like you said the regular miltary are supportive but the leadership have their hands tied untill the law changes -Had you been in the UK forces they would have probably promoted you for your integrity - we wish you every happyness and respect - from UK

i was referred to your you tube via gaytorrent lounge, since i was planning to enlist in the Air Force, what i wait for your response was how did you they found out? because to me, as much of an issue as DADT is, who i have a relationship with is nobody business, and im not going into back into closet but nor will i announce anything, how else can i be discharge?

You don't have to actually announce anything to get in trouble. Someone else who knows could say something, or someone could see you doing something and then report you.

I just thought about Berklee, since you're a musician, and you mentioned a college in the East Coast - so it would have either been Berklee or Tisch. I'm actually doing my Ph.D. in energy policy, and discovered my musical calling in the midst of the doctoral program. In any case, thanks for doing a great job explaining to your viewers why DADT must go.

I still get GI Bill benefits. I was honorably discharged so I get to keep them. The only problem is that it seems easier to just pay for schooling out of pocket than go through the hassle of getting the money from the government.

I'm really glad to hear that you'll be going to school. That's the next best step I think. From the sounds of the letter, I'm guessing the AF won't pay out on any GI education benefits, which blows a lot. You've served our country, you deserve the rights afforded to your for that. Do you maintain vet preference status for government jobs?
