the taped hole really does give it a different sound. I'm not sure how to describe it, but i've done it and it changes it up. But i'm pretty sure it's because he's plugged into the PA. I wouldn't be throwing heavy duty tape like that onto a gibson for no reason

@jonman45 I gotta say, I saw him live in April, his voice has really improved since this video. Not saying he sounds bad at all, but he is much better now.
