Daniele Calabrese, founder and CEO of Soundtracker, discusses their multi-platform mobile music service. Daniele describes Soundtracker as the "first geo-social internet radio". It offers more than 11 million songs, which consumers can play in real time with friends and broadcast via Facebook and Twitter. The free, ad-supported service, is available in 10 languages on a broad range of Nokia S60 and Symbian touch-based smartphones, as well as Nokia Series 40 phones. Building the app in Java, and making it work for more than fifty different Nokia phones, was "a little bit challenging for us," notes Calabrese. He adds, however, that "it was worth the time and effort because now we have an amazing reach." Soundtracker has been available for Windows Phone since the debut of the platform, in the fall of 2010. Calabrese called the announcement of the Nokia-Microsoft partnership an "eye opener". "I was amazed by the fact that the two companies would work together, and I really wanted to be there from day one," he says.
