What do Carnival Cruises, Bank of America, Goldman Sachs and Citigroup have in common? All of these wealthy corporations do not pay their fair share of taxes. We paid them a visit on tax day to teach them a lesson about greed and the need for sharing - A DANCE LESSON!

In Providence we came into Bank of America to do some banking only to discover that, "Hey, isn't it tax day? And isn't it kind of weird that BofA doesn't pay their fair share of taxes." It made people want to take a second and dance. But not just any dance, it was the Tax the Rich Shuffle!

In San Francisco we told City Hall, "If you like corporations so much why don't you marry'em?" And so the "shotgun wedding" of sorts was performed complete with our own reception line dancing: the Tax the Rich Shuffle!

In New York, as regular folks were in a hurry to file their taxes, we encouraged them to take a break (as many New Yorkers do) on the steps of the main post office. A dance break doing the Tax the Rich Shuffle!

In Alexandria, VA, it was a sunny day perfect for doing the Tax the Rich Shuffle outside of Bank of America.

In Boston and Los Angeles, sometimes you get ants and your pants and you need to dance! One time just isn't enough, so we paid a visit to Goldman Sachs and Bank of America in Boston and Citigroup and Bank of America in Los Angeles.

Miami did a remix of the Tax the Rich Shuffle made especially for Carnival Cruises. When the police rolled up like the Tax the Rich Shuffle was on like Footloose!

The Right to the City campaign for a national investment in jobs and housing is anchored by 11 member organizations: Causa Justa::JustCause (CJJC), City Life Vida Urbana (CLVU), Community Voice Heard (CVH), Direct Action for Rights and Equality (DARE), Mothers on the Move (MOM), Miami Worker Center (MWC), PowerU, People Organized to Win Employment Rights (POWER), Strategic Action for a Just Economy (SAJE), Tenants and Workers United (TWU), and Union de Vecinos (UV).

  • @MeChelMyBelle Why in the fuck do you think they outsource? We are the 2nd highest taxed country in the world! If we lowered taxes on everyone to 10%, all those jobs would comeback to the USA... 14 trillion dollars sits in offshore banks, because the tax rate here is 35%. If you lower the tax rate all that money will comeback here to expand business. Why do you think India and China are getting all the business? Because it's cheaper to make shit there! Increase taxes, and get more outsourcing!

  • Is it just me, or does it look like the democratic party are a bunch of IRS workers? Pay your fair share? It's crazy to see people that don't even pay taxes say this shit! If I pay for my home or my car or my land, I should be able to do what I want with it!!! Instead we have these parasites that don't pay shit saying we need your money! Tax the rich, the rich increase prices on the shit you buy... Then you don't buy as much shit! Then the Rich make less! Then they fire people! DUHHHHH!!!

  • What I don't hear is "Millionaires shouldn't draw Medicare, Social Security, VA nor any other government assistance." It wouldn't be necessary to raise taxes if millionaires were cut off.

  • Taxpayers who rank in the top 50 percent of taxpayers by income pay virtually all individual income taxes. In all years since 1990, taxpayers in this group have paid over 94 percent of all individual income taxes. In 2000, 2001, and 2002, this group paid over 96 percent of the total.

  • Try getting a job, working hard, and making something out of your lives. There is a reason some people succeed, and some don't. It's much easier sitting around crying about what others have, than it is to actually apply yourself. Keep biting the hand that feeds. Unless of course you work for a poor person.

  • Obama needs to tax the wealthy. Especially those who outscource (as promised). Why do rich mother fuckers get buy? They will seriously be the end of America. To see Indians overseas TAKE American "priviledge" due to the new arrival of former US jobs... To see Americans have to live in motels, cars, & shelters... It's like the wealthy has taken away ALL THE TREES~ AND THE FUCKERS ARE STILL EXPECTING THE REST OF US TO BREATHE!

  • It's quite funny to see how ignorant the American public is. By saying "tax the rich, create jobs" is equivalent to saying kill trees, create oxygen. Why is it in America liberals have such a problem with successful people and business owners (also known as job creators)? You people need to start making intelligent financial decisions in life rather that expecting a freebie from the government at the expense of hard working Americans. Freebies are over. Jan. 2012 Obama is out. Let freedom ring!

  • sweet. time to nudge the corporate pigs away from the trough...

  • I pay my taxes, you pay your taxes, corporations should pay their taxes too!
