Well, if your question is to buy or to lease, if I go back in time 10 or 15 years, most of the ATM sales were done by lease. That's because people were not sure of how the ATM was going to function in their business, machines cost a lot more money than they do now, and you just weren't sure about the return on investment.
Today, there are still companies that lack the cash flow to make the purchase of an ATM, but in doing so now, instead of looking at a leasing company because of the cost of the machines being so low, they typically are looking at a placement company, a premium service provider, who places the ATM and provides all the maintenance and services that go around.
Then there are many companies that certainly do want to buy an ATM, but make sure that you don't buy a used ATM. The cost for upgrades, for PCI compliance, AVA compliance are so great that the cost on a used ATM and bringing it up to compliance are just too great. The return on investment is not there.
