Dead girl walking, the boys say in the halls. Tell us your secret, the girls whisper, one toilet to another. I am that girl. I am the space between my thighs, daylight shining through. I am the bones they want, wired on a porcelain frame. Lia and Cassie are best friends, wintergirls frozen in matchstick bodies, competitors in a deadly contest to see who can be the skinniest. But what comes after size zero and size double-zero? When Cassie succumbs to the demons within, Lia feels she is being haunted by her friends restless spirit.
In her most emotionally wrenching, lyrically written book since the multiple-award-winning Speak, Laurie Halse Anderson explores Lias descent into the powerful vortex of anorexia, and her painful path toward recovery.

My all time favorite book It changed my life It saved me Before i read the book I was alot like Lea On a road to nowhere Starving and cutting And now im better Because of this book
This book isn't just her thoughts, it has a good story to it, i thought! Especially when she sees Cassie's ghost, or just imagines it, and the boy she meets, I LOVE how they didn't fall in love or anything dumb like that, it would have ruined the book. It was surprisingly funny too, to me at least : ) But, I'd read it slow not all in one sitting cuz I did that, and whew my head was spinning, lol x)
this book was so good. it reminded me of speak. very depressing topic. but somehow mrs. anderson managed to pull it off in a learn a lesson type book.
