LIving the US of Fat. I have bike in several states. Currently in Minneapolis, MN. They have some off-road trails with many poorly designed crossing. While biking on roads the crossing are the same very dangerous.
Givin a choice, I will choose the off-road because they are much safer. Even though using off-road paths often means doubleing the trip distance.
When I look at videos of Dutch infra and compare to US of Fat design - all I can think is how stupid America is.

Meanwhile we paint a bit of road Blue, allow cars/lorries/buses to carry on using it as before then call it a "Cycle Superhighway". Go us.
