When he composed Candide Overture, Leonard Bernstein probably never imagined that some college student working in a botany lab in Madison, Wisconsin would set clips of Venus Flytraps to it. But indeed that's what happened. The Gilroy Lab at the University of Wisconsin researches plant responses to mechanical stimuli, but sometimes Venus Flytraps are cooler. This video is an entry in ChloroFilms, an annual worldwide plant video competition that promotes creative education for plant biology. More details are at www.ChloroFilms.org.
