At an APEC dinner in Honolulu, music artist Makana shared with President Barack Obama and dignitaries what has become the OWS movement anthem. A few days later he performed live on Kaua'i for an enthusiastic crowd. Enjoy this intimate performance. For more on Makana, visit http://makanamusic.com Occupy with aloha!
The rise of capitalism itself depended on state coercion. English landed gentry pushed the people off the commons so the land could be used for commodity agriculture. Because they "owned" nothing themselves, commoners had no choice but to sell their labor to the owners of the means of production. These "enclosures" were carried out by the owning class who controlled Parliament.
Your mistrust of "isms" is good, but please learn the history of capitalism and class struggle! You have it wrong now.
