Low-carb living is as normal a part of American culture these days as http://LivinLaVidaLowCarb.com/blog blogger Jimmy Moore shows in the latest installment of his popular "Livin' La Vida Low-Carb on YouTube" series.

In Episode 60, Jimmy uses the example of a one-minute clip from a 2008 Lifetime movie starring teen R&B sensation JoJo and actress Valerie Bertinelli in a fantastic made-for-television flick called "True Confessions of a Hollywood Starlet":

The scene he shares with you is where the teen starlet (played by Joanna "JoJo" Levesque) attempts to order a low-carb meal at a fast food restaurant. This scene is HILARIOUS because it's exactly the kind of scenario real low-carb dieters face when they eat out.

  • Google "35-Fit, Fat and Forty-One" then use the fancast link (about the 4th down) you can view the whole episode.

Bob's doctor puts him on a high protein diet, but it also seems to be a low fat diet.He also mentions avoiding pasta and looking out for hidden carbs. He also says something about "you don't have to turn anything purple" Ketosis strips i guess. The episode is funny but not real positive or accurate about the diet, but of course it's Bob Newhart so it wouldn't be.Still a great episode.

  • I'll look for it! THANK YOU!

  • I was watching an episode of Bob Newhart (the old one where he was a psychiatrist) and someone mentioned low carb dieting. The didn't talk about it much, but it was neat to see that referenced in a show of that age. I'll have to see if i can find out what episode it was.

  • That would be cool if you can find it!

  • i loved it THE VIDEO and i live LOW-CARB

yeehaw. notice all the people in very old pictures, before fast food and before they even had a ice box, trim and fit, all low carb people. low carb worked great then and now.

  • GOOD POINTS! Thanks for watching and keep on livin' la vida low-carb!

  • Yep! Sad, but true.

  • OMG! I had no idea about their salads.

  • People think it's an inconvenience to order differently than 99.999% of the rest of the world, but I consider it a high honor. Why? Because my weight and health have never been better since I started livin' la vida low-carb! CONGRATULATIONS on your success. KEEP IT UP!!!

  • just wanted to comment that i totally go through this too lol. but i have tried almost every restaurant in our tiny town and can special order my meals and no one has yet turned my choices down. one restaurant even has a low carb section on their menu. its a nice thing to see. plus having several places that have salad bars is great.

this is the way i will eat for life. 95 lbs gone and only 45 lbs to go. finally under 200 lbs since high school!

keep up the great work as always!
