  • This song had everything it needed to be a no 1 hit in 83.... only god knows why it flopped...

  • Yeah its a great tune; one of her best. It's too bad that it flopped and not even she herself likes it.

  • is it me or this looks like a 90's video in the 80's ??

    maybe that's why it flopped

Kim Wilde was one of the hottest chicks in that era ♥

  • @MrTevB I think you're right, they are 2 different songs, but you are right again in that Kim's is so much better, that's not to insult his, which is fine, but Kim wins hands down generally with whatever she has out whenever she shares a song title, whether album track, b-side, or single with anyone else-her stuff is just so damned cool.

  • @TheMjblades I love Kim Wilde, Pretenders and Kate Bush. Even though KB's "The Dreaming" featured on "The Whole Story", tracks like "Don't Give UP" (her duet with Pater Gabriel) and "Them Heavy People" (the lead track from the "Live On Stage" EP) - both Top 10 singles - were omitted. So too were "Hammer Horror" (#44), "The Big Sky" (#37) and "December Will Be Magic Again" (#29). Some artists put out "Greatest Hits" packages featuring songs that weren't even singles, not to mind great hits !

  • 1 rule for someone else-this should not be left off compilations when Pretenders 'Middle Of Road' didn't even make Top 75 anywhere that mattered! Kate Bush's 'The Dreaming' hit UK48 & is on her hits. 'Dancing In The Dark' would have hit if that idiot no-one bloke hadn't released his version of the same song at the same time. Plus in 1983 people were stupid as hell-why they won't buy album cos of 1 single not even getting radio play is beyond me. Kim doesn't get the radio play-that's why!

  • This song was released around the same time Bruce Springsteen's version was it not? much prefer Kim's..smooth,creamy,sexy,boppy..perfect pop..

  • @TheMscrp it's was a big hit in Belgium. I was only two years old back then

  • 1983

  • KIM IS JUST PERFECT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I really like this video. I can see why some people find it boring but I think it's very.. aesthetically attractive. It's very stylistically pure but still feels very 80's (which isn't a common combination). And it fits the song really well too.

I mean, compare this to the video for "The Touch", which is just.. horrible.
